Draw the Missing Part is a free online drawing puzzle where each scene is finished except for one piece, and your job is to add it freehand. A cart has one wheel, a stream has no bridge, a swing seat hangs from nothing. Gold rings show where your line has to reach and a red zone shows what it must not touch, so the puzzle is about finding a route rather than about neat handwriting — a wobbly circle counts exactly the same as a perfect one. Each level also gives you an ink budget, which quietly rules out the lazy answer of scribbling over the whole picture. Eight scenes build from a single wheel to a pipe that has to work its way around a wall, and three stars need a first-attempt solve that did not waste ink.

How to play Draw the Missing Part

  1. Each picture is missing one piece. The line at the top tells you what to draw.
  2. Drag your finger or mouse across the picture to draw. Everything you draw is one continuous stroke.
  3. Gold rings mark where your stroke has to pass. They fill in green the moment your line crosses them.
  4. The red zone is whatever your line must not touch — a wall, the water, the body of the cart.
  5. The ink counter at the top shows how long your stroke is against the budget for that level. Going over fails the attempt.
  6. Lift your finger to be judged. If it did not work, the stroke turns red and tells you why — then just draw again.
  7. Three stars need a solve on the first attempt using no more than three quarters of the ink budget.

Tips

  • Shape does not matter, only where the line goes. A rough loop through four rings passes exactly as well as a neat circle.
  • Plan the order before you start. One stroke has to reach every ring, so the route matters more than the drawing.
  • For the wheel levels, go round the outside of the rings rather than scribbling across the middle — a loop is much cheaper in ink than a zig-zag.
  • The red zone is only where it is drawn, not the whole object. There is usually more room around it than it looks.
  • If you run out of ink, you took the long way round. Look for the route that passes the rings in the order they are laid out.
  • Rub Out clears the stroke without counting an attempt, so there is no cost to wiping a line you have not finished yet.

FAQ

Is Draw the Missing Part free to play?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no download, no account and no purchases. Your unlocked levels and best star rating per level are saved on your own device.

Does my drawing have to be neat?

Not at all. The game never compares your stroke to a reference shape — it only checks that the line passed through every gold ring, missed the red zone, and stayed inside the ink budget. A shaky hand is not penalised.

Why did my line fail when it looked right?

The message under the picture says which of the three rules it broke: a ring you did not pass through, the red zone you clipped, or the ink budget. The stroke also stays on screen in red so you can see the exact path that was judged.

Can I draw more than one stroke?

No — each attempt is a single continuous stroke, which is what makes finding the route the puzzle. Lifting your finger ends the attempt and has it judged.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, and it suits touch best — drawing with a finger is the natural input. The picture is drawn square so it fills a phone screen, and page scrolling is disabled over it so your stroke is never mistaken for a swipe.
