Tower Kingdom Defense

Reaction

Six maps of classic fixed-path tower defense built on one rule: armor subtracts from every single shot, so the fastest turret is the worst answer to a tank.

Tower Kingdom Defense is a free online tower defense game that runs straight in the browser with no download and no account. Enemies march a fixed road from one edge of the map to the other and you build turrets on the open ground beside it — the classic formula, with one thing sharpened. Armor here is flat, not a percentage: every point of it is subtracted from each individual shot that lands. A Gun Turret firing three times a second has the highest raw damage in the game and is still close to useless against an Armoured Tank, because seven of every eighteen damage simply vanishes on impact. The Missile Battery ignores armor entirely and deletes tanks, and is terrible against a swarm of scouts because it reloads for well over a second. The Cannon sits between them and damages everything inside its blast. That one rule is what makes a build an actual decision rather than a race to the strongest tower. On top of it, Field Medics walk with the column and heal everything around them, with their heal radius drawn on the map, so the question of what to shoot first has a visible answer. There are six maps from a single-bend border road to a seven-turn march, ten waves on the longest, three upgrade levels per turret, sell-and-rebuild at a sixty percent refund, and a speed control up to triple time. Every map has been proved winnable by a bot that plays it start to finish in the test suite.

How to play Tower Kingdom Defense

  1. Choose a turret from the shop on the right, then tap or click any patch of open ground beside the road to build it. Ground that is too close to the road, or already occupied, highlights red.
  2. Before you build, the range of the turret you have selected is drawn as a circle on the map, so you can see exactly how much road a spot covers.
  3. Press Start Wave when your defence is ready. Nothing spawns until you do, so there is no clock on the building phase and no penalty for taking your time.
  4. Armor is the core rule. Every enemy has an armor number, and it is subtracted from each shot individually — not from your total damage. A weak, fast turret loses almost all of its damage to an armoured target; a slow, heavy one barely notices.
  5. Gun Turret: cheap, three shots a second, no armor penetration. It is the right answer to Scouts and Soldiers and the wrong one to anything armoured.
  6. Cannon: slower, and its shell damages every enemy inside the blast. Best where the road doubles back and enemies bunch up.
  7. Missile Battery: ignores armor completely and has the longest reach, but reloads slowly. It is the only reliable answer to Armoured Tanks and Siege Tanks.
  8. Tap a turret you have already built to select it. The panel shows its damage, range and fire rate, and lets you upgrade it up to level three or sell it back for sixty percent of everything you have spent on it.
  9. Field Medics heal every enemy around them as they walk, and their heal radius is drawn on the map. A column with a medic in it can out-heal a thin defence entirely, so medics are usually what to kill first.
  10. You lose lives when an enemy reaches the far edge, and tougher enemies cost more — a Siege Tank getting through costs six. The map ends the moment lives hit zero.
  11. Clearing a wave pays a bonus on top of the bounty for each kill, and the bonus grows with the wave number. The speed button runs the wave at double or triple time once you are confident.

Tips

  • Read the armor number before you read the health bar. Two hundred health with no armor dies to a pair of Gun Turrets; three hundred and forty with seven armor will walk through six of them.
  • Build the first Missile Battery before the first tank wave, not during it. Tanks are slow, but a battery bought halfway through the wave has already missed most of its firing window.
  • Put turrets on the inside of a bend. The road passing on two sides of a cell nearly doubles how long anything stays in range, and every map has been drawn with at least a few of those corners.
  • Upgrading beats building wide. Level three is more than twice the damage of level one for less than twice the gold, and it occupies one cell instead of two — which matters most on Ironworks Bend, where the road is short and the ground is wide.
  • Kill medics on sight. Their healing applies to everything in the circle including other medics, so a group of three can make an ordinary heavy wave functionally immortal against a weak defence.
  • Selling is not a punishment. Sixty percent back is enough that repurposing a bad early Gun Turret into a Missile Battery for the late waves is usually correct rather than wasteful.
  • Do not rush Start Wave for the bonus. The wave clear bonus is paid whenever you finish the wave — waiting to build first costs you nothing at all.
  • Cannons want the chokes, not the straights. On Switchback Pass and The Long March the road folds back on itself, and one well-placed cannon covers two lanes of the same column.

FAQ

Is Tower Kingdom Defense free to play?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no download, no sign-up and nothing to buy. All six maps are there from the start, unlocking one at a time as you clear the one before.

Why does my strongest turret barely hurt tanks?

Because armor is subtracted from every individual shot rather than from your damage total. The Gun Turret has the highest raw damage per second in the game, but a tank has seven armor, so seven is taken off each of its small, fast shots and most of that damage never lands. The Missile Battery ignores armor completely — it is the answer to tanks, even though its raw numbers look worse.

How do I stop the enemies that heal?

Field Medics heal everything within the green circle drawn around them, including other medics. Concentrate on the medic rather than the tank it is healing — with the medic gone, the rest of the column drops normally. A Cannon is good at this because its blast hits the medic even when it is aiming at the group.

Can I sell or move a tower?

You can sell it and rebuild elsewhere. Select any turret and Sell returns sixty percent of everything you have spent on it, upgrades included. There is no direct move, but at that refund rate repurposing an early turret for the late waves is usually the right call.

How many maps and waves are there?

Six maps, from a single-bend border road up to a seven-turn march. Early maps run eight waves and the last three run ten, ending in Siege Tank waves. Each map unlocks when you clear the one before it.

Is every map actually winnable?

Yes, and it is verified rather than assumed. The test suite runs a bot that plays every map from the first wave to the last using a plain mix of turrets and no per-map tuning, and each run has to finish with lives remaining. A balance change that made a map impossible would fail the build.

Do I have to wait between waves?

No. Nothing spawns until you press Start Wave, so the building phase lasts exactly as long as you want it to. Once a wave is running you can speed it up to double or triple time.

Does Tower Kingdom Defense work on mobile?

Yes. Tapping the ground builds and tapping a turret selects it, the same as clicking. The map is wide, so it is more comfortable in landscape, and the game keeps the rotate prompt on phones for that reason.
