How to play Path Connect
- Each board has numbered dots. Your path starts on dot 1 and must end on the highest-numbered dot.
- Drag from dot 1 across neighbouring squares, tap the square next to the end of your path, or press the arrow keys. The path moves up, down, left or right, one square at a time.
- Pass through every dot in numeric order. A dot whose turn has not come yet is closed to the path.
- Thick bars between two squares are walls. The path can never cross one, so it has to go round.
- Fill every square of the grid exactly once. The board is solved the moment the path covers every square and ends on the last dot.
- Undo or Backspace takes back your last move, dragging back over your own path shortens it, Hint fixes a wrong turn and adds the next correct square, and Reset clears the board.
Tips
- Start with corners and squares boxed in by walls: a square with only two open sides must be entered by one and left by the other, unless it is dot 1 or the last dot.
- A square with only one open side left can only be an end of the path, so unless it is dot 1 or the last dot, something has already gone wrong.
- Two dots with consecutive numbers that sit far apart need a route that leaves room for everything else; look at which squares only that route can reach.
- Don't race straight to the next dot. Covering a whole edge or corner on the way is often the only way to avoid stranding it.
- Your best time only counts on a solve without hints, so try a board on your own first and keep Hint for when you are truly stuck.
