Draw Line Connect is a free online drawing physics puzzle that runs in the browser with no download and no sign-up. Two balls hang in a world of fixed ledges. Anything you draw becomes solid, so a line is a ramp, a wall, a floor or a launch pad depending on where you put it. Press Drop and the run plays out with no further input: a ball landing on a steep line keeps nearly all its speed sideways and can fly right across the level. Eight levels, an ink budget on each, and a par to beat if you want all three stars.
How to play Draw Line Connect
- Two balls sit in the world. The aim is to get them to touch each other.
- Drag anywhere on the board to draw a line. Whatever you draw becomes solid the moment you let go.
- The counter in the header is your ink. A long line costs more than a short one, and the pen stops when the budget runs out.
- Press Drop and both balls fall at once. You cannot change anything while they are moving.
- A ball landing on a steep line keeps almost all of its speed along the slope, so a short ramp in the right place throws a ball a long way.
- A ball that falls out of the world ends the attempt. Undo takes back your last line and Clear Ink starts the drawing again.
- Solve the level under par for three stars. Par is generous — it is roughly double the shortest line that works.
Tips
- Think about where the ball will be *fast*, not where it is now. A ramp placed low catches a ball that has already fallen a long way, and speed is what carries it across the level.
- Steep beats long. A short steep ramp usually throws a ball further than a long gentle one, and it costs a fraction of the ink.
- Aim the ramp, not the ball. Draw the line so its direction points at where you want the ball to end up — that is almost exactly where it goes.
- Only one ball usually needs to move. The other is often already sitting where you want the meeting to happen, so ink spent on it is wasted.
- When a ball keeps falling out of the world, the fix is usually one line earlier in its path, not a wall at the edge.
- Every level here was solved by an exhaustive search over single straight lines, so one clean line is always enough. If you are drawing your third, step back.
- Par rewards the efficient answer rather than the optimal one, so do not hunt for the perfect three-unit flick — a tidy short ramp clears it.
FAQ
Is Draw Line Connect free to play?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no download, no account and nothing to buy. All eight levels are here and they unlock as you solve them.
Can I draw while the balls are falling?
No. The whole point is that the drop plays out from what you drew, with no further input. That is also why the same ink always gives exactly the same run — you can retry a plan and see the difference one line makes.
Why did my ball shoot sideways off a small line?
Because a bounce keeps most of its speed along the surface and loses most of it into the surface. A ball that has fallen a long way arrives fast, so even a short steep ramp turns that fall into a long horizontal flight.
What happens if a ball falls off the screen?
The attempt ends and you redraw. Nothing is lost — the level stays as it was, and Undo keeps whichever lines you want.
Is every level definitely solvable?
Yes, and with a single straight line. Each level was put through an exhaustive search over straight segments on a grid, and the line it found is stored with the level and replayed by the test suite.
What is par?
The ink a three-star solution may use. It is set at roughly twice the shortest working line, because the shortest one is a needle nobody should have to thread — par is there to reward an efficient answer, not a perfect one.
Does Draw Line Connect work on a phone?
Yes, and drawing with a finger is the natural way to play it. The board is square and scales to the portrait frame.
