How to play Mahjong Connect

1. Tap a mahjong tile to select it, then tap a second tile with the same face to try to connect them.
2. The pair clears only if an open path — a straight line, one turn, or two turns (including routes around the board's outer edge) — connects them with no tiles blocking the way.
3. Clear pairs before the countdown timer hits zero; every successful match adds a few seconds back and adds to your score, with straighter connections worth more.
4. Clear every tile to complete the level and move on to the next gravity behavior — if you ever run out of legal moves, the board automatically reshuffles itself so you're never stuck.

Tips

• Check the board's outer edges before giving up on a pair — a connecting path can route around the outside border, so two tiles in the same row or column near opposite edges are often connectable even through a packed middle.
• On gravity levels like Downward Pull or Split Horizon, clear tiles closer to the direction tiles are sliding first — it opens straight lanes through the rest of the board sooner instead of leaving isolated pockets.
• Save your last hint or shuffle charge for the endgame — with only a handful of tiles left, spotting the final valid pair by eye is much harder than it is early, when the board is still full of options.
