Take the order, get it on the hob, serve it before they walk — eight shifts where the bottleneck is the pass, not your tapping speed.

Diner Rush is a free online time management game about running a small kitchen without falling behind. Customers sit down, wait to order and lose patience on a visible timer. Tapping them takes the order and puts the dish straight on the hob, where it cooks in real time — a coffee takes two seconds, a roast eleven. Finished plates move to the pass, and the pass only holds a few at once, so cooking ahead has a hard limit and a jammed pass stops the hob dead. That constraint is the whole game: the decision is which order to start next, not how fast you can tap. Serving quickly pays a tip on top of the price, so a shift that just about survives and a shift that hits target are usually the same number of covers served in a better order. Eight shifts scale from three tables and two dishes to six tables and the full menu.

How to play Diner Rush

  1. Customers arrive and sit at a free table. The bar under each one is their patience — when it empties they walk out.
  2. Tap a waiting table to take its order. The dish goes straight on the hob and starts cooking immediately.
  3. Dishes cook in real time. The hob shows each one filling up as it cooks.
  4. A finished dish moves to the pass. The table then reads "Serve" — tap it again to deliver and get paid.
  5. The pass only holds a few plates. When it is full, finished dishes sit on the hob and block it, so clear the pass by serving.
  6. Serving while the customer still has patience left pays a tip on top of the dish price, up to half again.
  7. Reach the coin target before the shift clock runs out, without exceeding the walkout allowance for that level.

Tips

  • Take every order the instant the customer sits. Cooking starts when you take the order, not when you serve, so a delayed order wastes patience you cannot get back.
  • Start the long dishes first when several customers are waiting. A roast and a coffee ordered together finish far closer if the roast goes on first.
  • Watch the hob for a full bar that has not moved to the pass — that means the pass is jammed and nothing else can finish until you serve or bin a plate.
  • Bin Plate exists for the plate nobody ordered any more, usually after a customer walked out. One binned plate can unblock three cooking dishes.
  • The tip is the difference between passing and failing on the later levels. Two customers served at full patience beat three served at the last second.
  • Cheap dishes are not bad dishes. A coffee cooks in two seconds and turns a table over quickly, which frees a seat for the next arrival.
  • Three stars need a clean shift with no walkouts and comfortably over target, so on a retry it is worth losing a customer deliberately rather than letting two more go.

FAQ

Is Diner Rush free to play?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no download, no account and no purchases. Your unlocked shifts and best star rating per shift are saved on your own device.

Why has my dish finished cooking but not appeared on the pass?

The pass is full. It holds a fixed number of plates per level, and a finished dish waits on the hob until there is room. Serving a customer or binning a plate frees it up — until then nothing else can finish either.

Does taking an order early stop the customer walking out?

No. Patience keeps running from the moment they sit down until they are served. Taking the order early helps because it starts the cooking sooner, not because it buys you time.

What happens if I tap a table whose dish is not ready?

Nothing at all — there is no penalty for a mistaken tap. The game is about the order you start things in, so mis-taps are not something worth punishing.

Can I play it on a phone?

Yes. Every action is a single tap on a table, and the tables reflow into a grid that fits narrow screens. There is nothing to drag.
