Cake Bakery is a free online cake making game you can play instantly in your browser, with no download and no account. Every cake takes the same journey — mixer, oven, cooling rack, frosting bench, decorating table — and every station holds only so many cakes at a time. That is the whole game: not tapping ingredients in order, but keeping three or four cakes moving through five stations so none of them stalls behind a full bench. A cake moves on only when its stage timer runs out, with one exception that decides every level. The oven is ready at a set time and burns a little after it, and a burnt cake is scrap that still takes up the oven until you bin it. So the pressure is never really the oven itself — it is the cooling rack backing up behind it, because a jam three stations downstream is what leaves a good sponge in the heat too long. Flavour is chosen at the mixer, frosting at the bench and the topper at the decorating table, and each is checked against the order at the end: a cake that does not match still sells, but at half price. Eight levels open the bakery with one of everything and a twelve-second margin on the oven, and finish with a full five-flavour menu, doubled stations, and four seconds between a perfect bake and charcoal.
How to play Cake Bakery
- Orders appear along the top. Each shows the cake it wants as three stacked layers: sponge at the bottom, frosting in the middle, topper on top.
- Tap an order, then pick a sponge flavour to start a cake. It appears in the Mixer at the left end of the production line.
- Every station has a progress bar. When it fills, that cake is ready and its card turns green — tap the cake, then tap the move button to send it to the next station.
- The route is fixed and one-way: Mixer, Oven, Cooling Rack, Frosting, Decorating. A cake can never skip a station or go back.
- Each station holds a limited number of cakes, shown as dashed empty slots. If the next station is full the cake waits where it is, which is how a production line jams.
- The oven is the only station with a deadline. Once the bake is done its bar flips to a countdown — that is the burn fuse. Let it run out and the cake is ruined and blocks the oven until you tap Bin it.
- Choose the frosting when the cake leaves the cooling rack, and the topper when it leaves the frosting bench. Both are checked against the order later.
- When a cake finishes decorating, tap Serve. A cake matching all three parts pays full price plus a bonus based on how much patience the customer had left; one that does not match still sells, at half price.
- Clear the coin target before the last order of the day is done to finish the level. An order nobody starts eventually cancels, and takes any cake already made for it with it.
Tips
- Look at the far end of the line before you put anything in the oven. A full cooling rack means the oven has nowhere to empty into, and that is what burns cakes — not misreading the timer.
- The bottleneck is almost never the mixer. Starting a fourth cake when the frosting bench already has a queue just moves the jam one station earlier.
- A burnt cake costs you twice: the ingredients and the oven slot. Bin it immediately — leaving it there while you deal with something else is how a level unravels.
- On the later levels the burn window is shorter than the cooling time, so you cannot leave a finished bake sitting while a rack clears. Plan the pull before you start the bake.
- A mismatched cake is worth half, which is usually better than no cake at all. If you have picked the wrong frosting, finish and sell it rather than abandoning it — the station is worth more free than the cake is worth right.
- Speed bonuses come from the customer patience bar, not from the pipeline, so a cake finished early on a fresh order is worth noticeably more than the same cake finished late.
- When two ovens unlock, resist filling both with cakes that will be ready at the same moment. Staggering the starts by a few seconds gives you time to pull them one at a time.
FAQ
Is Cake Bakery free to play?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no download, no sign-up and nothing to buy. All eight levels are available as you unlock them by playing, and the coins are only ever a score.
How do you win a level?
Reach the coin target before the last order of the day has been served or cancelled. Coins come from selling cakes, so it is really a question of how many you can push through the line without burning or mismatching them.
Why did my cake burn?
The oven has a ready point and a burn point. When the bake finishes, the progress bar flips into a countdown — that is how long you have to pull the cake out. Usually a cake burns because the cooling rack ahead of it was full, so the real fix is keeping the far end of the line moving.
Can I fix a burnt cake?
No. A burnt cake is scrap, and until you bin it, it keeps occupying the oven slot. Tap it and choose Bin it to free the oven — the order it was for is still open, so you can start a fresh cake for it if there is time.
What happens if I pick the wrong frosting or topper?
The cake still sells, but at half price and with no speed bonus. There is no way to strip a frosting off, so a mismatch is a decision about whether the station is worth more to you empty than the cake is worth correct.
How is this different from a cooking or restaurant game?
Most cooking games are about assembling one order at a time in the right sequence. This one is about scheduling: five stations with limited slots, several cakes in flight at once, and a queue that forms behind whichever station is slowest. The skill is deciding what to start, not what to tap.
Does Cake Bakery work on mobile?
Yes. Every action is a single tap, the action panel stays in one place at the bottom so buttons never move under your thumb, and the production line scrolls sideways on narrow screens. Phones, tablets and desktops all play the same.
Do I get the same orders if I replay a level?
Restarting a level replays exactly the same orders in the same sequence, so you can work out a level you nearly cleared. New Day generates a fresh set at the same difficulty.
