Would You Rather is a free online would you rather game you can play in your browser with no download, no sign-up and no email. Every round asks a two-way question — would you rather fly whenever you like or be invisible whenever you like? Live in a lighthouse or in a castle? — and you pick a side. There are 200 dilemmas in 10 packs (food, superpowers, travel, school, animals, everyday life, magic, space and the future, sports and totally silly), all written for this game and all family-friendly. Play three ways: Just me, ten dilemmas at a time, where the game remembers your picks and tells you when you change your mind; Party vote, where 2-8 players on one phone or computer vote in secret and then see how the group split, who agreed most and who stood alone; and Read my mind, where two players take turns picking in secret and guessing each other's choice. Nothing repeats until your packs run out.

How to play Would You Rather

  1. Choose how to play on the first screen: Just me, Party vote or Read my mind. Tap a card, or press 1, 2 or 3.
  2. Pick your packs under the cards. All 10 are on to start; tap a pack to switch it off or on again (at least one stays on).
  3. Each dilemma shows two sides. Tap the side you would rather, or press A or B (the left and right arrow keys work too), then press Next or Enter.
  4. Just me: after ten dilemmas you see every pick, how many were new and how many you changed since last time.
  5. Party vote: type 2-8 names and choose 5, 10 or 15 rounds. Pass the device round; each player votes in secret, and when everyone has voted the round shows who picked which side.
  6. Read my mind: two players take turns. One picks a side in secret while the other looks away, then the other guesses it. After 6, 10 or 16 rounds you see who read whom best.

Tips

  • Answer fast. The first side that makes you smile is usually the honest one — and the game will tell you next time if you change your mind.
  • In Party vote, say why after each reveal. The split is only the start; the reasons are the fun part.
  • In Read my mind, think about what your friend would pick, not what you would. Pure guessing gets about half right, so anything well above that means you know them.
  • Mix packs for a party: Totally silly and Superpowers get everyone laughing, while Travel and Everyday life start real conversations.
  • Playing with younger kids? Stick to Animals, Food & drink and Magic & fantasy, and let them read the sides out loud.

FAQ

Is Would You Rather free to play?

Yes. It is free in your browser, with no download, no account, no email and no in-game purchases.

How many questions are there?

There are 200 dilemmas in 10 packs of 20: Food & drink, Superpowers, Travel & adventure, School days, Animals, Everyday life, Magic & fantasy, Space & the future, Sports & play and Totally silly. Every one was written for this game, and none repeats until the packs you chose have all come up.

Does it show what percentage of people picked each side?

No, and on purpose. The game has no server and collects nothing, so any worldwide percentage would be made up. It only counts the people actually playing: your own picks in Just me, and the real split of the players on your device in Party vote.

Is it suitable for kids and families?

Yes. Every dilemma is family-friendly: nothing gross, scary, violent, romantic or political. The game checks its own list for words like these, so they cannot slip in later.

How do I play it as a party game?

Choose Party vote, type the names of 2-8 players and pick 5, 10 or 15 rounds. Pass the phone or tablet round the group: each player votes while the others look away, and the votes stay hidden until everyone has picked. Then the round shows the split by name, and the end screen shows how many rounds were unanimous, which players agreed most, and who was most often on the smaller side.

How does Read my mind work?

Two players take turns. In each round one picks a side in secret and the other guesses it, so each of you guesses half the rounds. The end screen shows how often each of you read the other and the real odds of doing that well by pure guessing — for example, guessing at random gets 8 or more of 10 about 1 time in 18.

Does the game remember my answers?

Only in your own browser: Just me keeps which side you picked for each dilemma so it can tell you when you change your mind, and the game remembers your packs and player names for next time. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Does Would You Rather work on mobile?

Yes. On a phone the two sides stack one above the other and you tap the one you want; on a computer you can use the mouse or the keys A and B, Enter for the next dilemma and Esc to go back.
