Idle Clicker is a free online incremental game about turning a single click into an industry. You start by tapping for one gem at a time. Fifteen gems buys a hand pick, which mines while you do nothing; the pick pays for a steam drill, the drills pay for ore carts, and by the top of the list you are running orbital mining rigs. Every generator gets more expensive the more you own, so the best purchase keeps moving up the list — that is the whole decision in the genre and it is why buying ten at a time is worth checking against buying one. Upgrades sit alongside: some multiply what a click is worth, some multiply everything your generators produce. Eight levels raise the goal by a factor of ten each time, from 100 gems to a full billion, and nothing here is random — every number on screen is one you can work out.

How to play Idle Clicker

  1. Tap the big Mine button to earn gems. At the start each tap is worth one gem.
  2. Spend gems on generators in the shop. Each one produces gems every second, whether you are clicking or not.
  3. Generators get more expensive as you buy more of the same kind, so the cheapest item is not always the best value — check the next tier as soon as it unlocks.
  4. Use the Buy 1, Buy 10 and Max switches above the shop. Max buys as many as you can afford in one go and is usually the fastest way to spend a big pile.
  5. Upgrades at the bottom are one-off purchases. Some multiply the value of every click, others multiply everything your generators produce; they all stack.
  6. Levels are scored on total gems ever earned, not gems in hand, so spending never sets you back. Reach the goal to unlock the next level.

Tips

  • Buy the next generator tier as soon as it appears. A single Steam Drill out-produces eight Hand Picks, and the pattern repeats all the way up the list.
  • Click upgrades matter most early and least later. Once you are producing hundreds per second, a production multiplier is worth far more than doubling a click.
  • Switch to Max whenever you have not bought anything in a while. It is the same maths as clicking Buy 1 repeatedly but without the drift and without the wrist ache.
  • Do not hoard. Gems sitting in your pocket earn nothing, and levels are scored on total earned, so spending immediately is always at least as good as saving.
  • When the progress bar stalls, the answer is almost always a new generator tier rather than more of what you already own — the price curve has caught up with you.

FAQ

Is Idle Clicker free to play?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no download, no account, and no in-game purchases of any kind. Level progress saves on your own device.

Does it keep earning when I close the tab?

No. Production only runs while the game is open, so there is no offline progress to come back to. Each level is designed to be finished in one sitting.

Why does the same generator keep getting more expensive?

Each unit costs about 15 to 18 percent more than the last, which is the standard incremental-game curve. It is what makes the next tier eventually the better buy, instead of one generator staying optimal forever.

What does "Max" buy?

As many of that generator as your current gems allow, priced exactly as if you had bought them one at a time. The game solves the total directly rather than looping, so the number shown is the number you get.

Do upgrades stack?

Yes, multiplicatively. Grip Gloves and Power Hammer together make every click worth eight times a base click, and the production upgrades multiply on top of each other in the same way.
