Knife Hit is a free online knife throwing game that runs in the browser with no download and no sign-up. The log turns on its own and a throw plants a knife wherever it is facing when the blade arrives. The knife takes a moment to fly, so the gap you aimed at has already moved by the time it lands — leading the spin is the whole skill. Every knife that sticks becomes an obstacle for the ones after it, so the target shrinks because of your own success. Eight logs add knives already in the wood, faster spin and, later, a speed that will not hold steady.
How to play Knife Hit
- Tap the board, the throw button or press space to throw a knife.
- The log spins on its own. The knife sticks wherever the log is facing when it arrives.
- The blade takes about a sixth of a second to fly, so aim ahead of the gap rather than at it.
- Hitting a knife already in the log ends the run immediately.
- Some logs start with knives already stuck in them — those are obstacles from the first throw.
- The pips along the bottom are how many knives you have left to place.
- Land them all to clear the log. Later logs spin faster and, from the third, at a speed that keeps changing.
Tips
- Lead the spin. The most common miss is throwing when the gap is in front of you rather than a moment before.
- Throw into the widest gap, not the nearest one. Every knife you land makes the next target smaller, so spending the early throws well matters most.
- On the wobbling logs, throw when the spin is at its slowest. The gap is in the same place either way but you have longer to hit it.
- A log turning the other way needs the lead on the other side. Check the direction before your first throw.
- Do not rush the last knife. There is no clock at all — the only pressure is the one you invent.
- Every log has room for every knife it asks for, with margin, so a clean run is always geometrically possible.
- Try Again reshuffles where the starting knives sit, so a log that felt impossible is worth one more attempt.
FAQ
Is Knife Hit free to play?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no download, no account and nothing to buy. All eight logs are here and unlock as you clear them.
Is there a time limit?
None at all. You can watch the log turn for as long as you like before every throw — the only thing that ends a run is a knife hitting a knife.
Why did my knife hit one that looked far away?
Because the blade takes time to arrive and the log keeps turning while it is in the air. The angle that matters is where the gap will be, not where it was when you pressed.
Can a log run out of room?
No. Every level is checked to have angular room for its full set of knives with a wide margin, so a clean run is always possible — the difficulty is timing, never geometry.
Why do some logs speed up and slow down?
From the third log the spin wobbles on a slow cycle. It is the same gap to hit, but the window it gives you keeps changing size, so throwing at the slow part of the cycle is a real advantage.
Do the starting knives move between attempts?
Yes. Try Again places them differently, though always spread out rather than bunched — two obstacles on top of each other would be one wall pretending to be two.
Does Knife Hit work on a phone?
Yes. It is one tap anywhere on the board, and the log is drawn to fit a portrait screen.
