Number Match is a numbers puzzle: tap two tiles that are identical (like 6 and 6) or that add up to 10 (like 3 and 7) to clear them from the board, as long as a straight line — horizontal, vertical, diagonal, or wrapping from the end of one row to the start of the next — connects them with no other tile in between. Clear every tile to win. If you run out of moves, Add Numbers copies every tile still on the board to the end, opening fresh paths without changing the puzzle you've already solved. Five levels ramp up the board size, playable free in the browser with no download or sign-up.
How to play Number Match
- Look at the grid of numbered tiles. Tap one tile to select it, then tap a second tile to try to match it.
- Two tiles match if they show the same number (like 4 and 4) or if they add up to 10 (like 6 and 4).
- A match only counts if the two tiles are connected by a clear straight line — horizontal, vertical, or diagonal — with no other filled tile between them, or if they're next to each other in reading order once everything between the end of one row and the start of the next has been cleared.
- Matched tiles disappear. Clear every tile on the board to complete the level.
- Stuck with no valid pairs left? Tap Add Numbers to copy every remaining tile to the end of the board in reading order — this opens new connections without erasing your progress. Each level limits how many times you can use it.
Tips
- Scan for "10 pairs" first (1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6, 5+5) since they're easy to miss compared to spotting two identical numbers.
- Clear tiles along the edges of a row before the middle when you can — it opens up more reading-order wrap connections between rows.
- Save Add Numbers for when you're truly stuck rather than using it early; every use quietly costs points, and a fresh look at the board often reveals a diagonal match you missed.
FAQ
Is Number Match free to play?
Yes. Number Match is completely free to play online with no download, no account, and no in-game purchases.
Does Number Match work on mobile?
Yes, it works on touch devices as well as desktop with mouse and keyboard.
What counts as a valid match in Number Match?
Two tiles match if their numbers are identical or add up to 10, and only if a clear line connects them — same row, same column, same diagonal, or adjacent in reading order (end of one row to the start of the next) once every tile between them is already cleared.
What does the Add Numbers button do?
It copies every tile still on the board to the end, in reading order, without removing anything you've already cleared. This is the standard way to recover when no straight-line match is currently available — each level limits how many times you can use it.
