Garden Tycoon is a free online farm-management game about one decision made over and over: is this coin better spent on the next seed, the next plot, or the next upgrade? You start with two beds and enough for a radish. Radishes pay for lettuce, lettuce for carrots, and by the end you are running twelve plots of sunflowers under a greenhouse. Crops grow in real time and each plot dries out — a dry bed still grows, at a quarter of the speed, so an unattended garden slows to a crawl rather than stopping. Six upgrades change the maths rather than just the numbers: compost and a greenhouse speed growth, a water barrel and irrigation stretch how long a watering lasts, a market stall and a farm contract raise what every harvest sells for. Six levels raise the target from 120 coins to 120,000.
How to play Garden Tycoon
- Choose a seed from the shelf, then tap an empty plot to plant it. Planting waters the plot automatically.
- Tap a growing plot to water it again. A dry plot keeps growing but at a quarter of the speed, and a droplet marks any bed that needs attention.
- A ripe plot is outlined in amber. Tap it to harvest and collect the coins.
- Water All and Harvest All do the whole garden in one press, which is how you run more than a handful of plots.
- Spend coins on new plots — they get steadily more expensive — and on the six upgrades, which multiply growth speed, harvest value or how long a watering lasts.
- Levels are scored on total coins earned, not coins in hand, so spending never sets you back. Reach the target to unlock the next level.
Tips
- Move up the crop ladder as soon as you can afford it. Each tier earns more per second than the one below it, so a plot of lettuce beats a plot of radishes even though the seed costs three times as much.
- Buy the water barrel early. Doubling how long a watering lasts halves how often you have to touch the garden, which is worth more than one extra plot at that stage.
- Do not buy plots forever. Each one costs about 80% more than the last, so past six or seven beds the same coins buy a growth upgrade that speeds up everything you already own.
- Water before harvesting, not after. Watering a ripe plot does nothing, so the efficient order is Harvest All, then plant, then Water All.
- On the long crops, check the droplet markers rather than the timers. A sunflower left dry for its last stretch takes four times as long to finish.

Is Garden Tycoon free to play?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no download, no account, and no in-game purchases. Level progress saves on your own device.
Does the garden keep growing when I close the tab?
No. Crops only grow while the game is open, so there is no offline progress. Each level is built to be finished in one sitting.
What happens if I forget to water?
A dry plot keeps growing at a quarter of its normal speed. It is a slowdown rather than a loss — nothing ever dies — but on the slow crops it makes a large difference.
Should I buy plots or upgrades?
Both, in that order, and then upgrades. Plots get about 80% more expensive each time while upgrades are a flat price, so early plots are excellent value and late ones are not.
How is the level goal measured?
On total coins ever earned, not on what you are holding. Reinvesting everything is always at least as good as saving, which is deliberate — the game is about spending well, not hoarding.
