Idle Bakery Tycoon is a free online idle game about a bakery that never quite closes. You start by selling loaves over the counter one tap at a time, buy a bread oven, then pastry and cake ovens that bake while you do nothing. Every oven line gets four times faster the moment it reaches 10 ovens, then again at 25, 50, 75 and every 25 after that, and each buy button shows how many ovens you are short. That is the decision the whole game turns on: the cheapest oven is often not the best buy when another line is three ovens from ×4, and the weakest line is worth lifting because every line gets ×1.5 once all three reach the same count. The second decision comes when you leave. The bakery keeps baking with the page closed, but only on the night plan you chose and only while the flour lasts: Rush bakes at full speed for one hour, Steady at half speed for three, Slow proof at a quarter for eight. When you come back, the game tells you what it baked and whether the flour ran out. Eight goals run from your first thousand coins to a bread empire worth 1.5 trillion, and nothing is random — every price and every multiplier is a number you can check.

How to play Idle Bakery Tycoon

  1. Tap Sell a loaf to earn coins. Each tap is worth one coin plus a small share of what your ovens make in a second, so tapping never stops counting.
  2. Buy a bread oven as soon as you can afford ten coins. Ovens bake on their own, and the pastry and cake lines open as your coins grow.
  3. Watch the bar on each line: it says how many ovens are left before that line becomes four times faster. Lines multiply at 10 ovens, then at 25, 50, 75 and every 25 after.
  4. Use the gold Buy N → ×4 button to buy exactly up to the next multiplier in one go. It costs the same as buying the ovens one at a time.
  5. When all three lines reach 10 ovens, every line gets ×1.5, and the same bonus comes again at 25, 50, 100, 150 and 200 each.
  6. Before you leave, choose a night plan: Rush, Steady or Slow proof. The bakery bakes on that plan while the page is closed, until its flour runs out. Goals are scored on all coins ever earned, so spending never sets you back.

Tips

  • A line three ovens short of ×4 is almost always the best thing to buy, even when another oven is cheaper. The gold button shows the full price, so compare it with what the line will make after the jump.
  • Do not leave one line behind. The full-menu bonus waits for your weakest line, so a few cheap bread ovens can multiply your cake line too.
  • Leaving for a coffee? Pick Rush: full speed for an hour beats everything else for any break up to two hours.
  • Going to bed? Pick Slow proof. Eight hours at a quarter speed is twice what Rush gives you, and Steady only wins for absences between two and six hours.
  • Every plan card shows the most it can bake at your current ovens. Buy your ovens first and set the plan last, just before you close the page.

FAQ

Is Idle Bakery Tycoon free to play?

Yes. It runs in your browser with no download, no account and nothing to buy with real money. Your bakery is saved on your own device.

Does the bakery keep baking when I close the tab?

Yes, on the night plan you picked and only while the flour lasts: Rush bakes at full speed for 1 hour, Steady at half speed for 3 hours, Slow proof at a quarter speed for 8 hours. Anything past that bakes nothing. Progress is worked out from the time you left, so it works offline and needs no server.

Which night plan should I choose?

It depends only on how long you will be gone. Rush is best for anything up to 2 hours, Steady between 2 and 6 hours, and Slow proof for longer, such as overnight. At exactly 2 hours Rush and Steady bake the same, and at 6 hours Steady and Slow proof do.

How long does it take to reach all eight goals?

A test player who taps four times a second and buys toward the ×4 counts reaches the last goal in under 25 minutes of play. The same player buying whichever oven pays back fastest, without looking at the counts, takes at least half as long again.

What happens if I change my computer clock?

Moving the clock forward only counts up to the night plan's limit, like any other absence. Moving it backwards bakes nothing for that gap, and the game tells you so.

Can I start again?

Yes. Press New bakery, then press it again to confirm. The restart button above the game asks for the same second press, so one stray click never wipes a bakery.
