Home / Quiz / Daily Picture Guess
Daily Picture Guess is a free online picture-guessing game. Each picture starts behind a grid of 25 cover tiles. Lift them one at a time, and the moment you think you know what it is, pick the answer — the fewer tiles you have spent, the more the picture is worth, from a full 100 points for a cold guess down to 4 for one you had to see completely. Wrong answers cost a life rather than the picture, so an early guess is a genuine gamble. Today's Puzzle is seeded from the calendar date, so everybody playing on the same day gets exactly the same set and a score worth comparing; the eight practice levels run unlimited, hiding more of the picture and taking away lives as you climb. Every picture is drawn in code rather than photographed, so there is nothing licensed, nothing scraped, and nothing that loads slowly.
How to play Daily Picture Guess
- A picture is hidden behind a grid of 25 tiles. Some are already lifted at the easier levels.
- Press "Reveal a tile" to lift one more. The button shows what the picture is currently worth and what it will drop to.
- Pick one of the four names as soon as you think you know. Guessing at 100 points with nothing showing is worth twenty-five times a fully revealed one.
- A wrong name is struck through and costs one life, but the picture stays live — you can reveal more and guess again.
- Run out of lives and the round ends there. Otherwise you play through every picture in the level.
- Beat the level's points target to unlock the next one. "Today's Puzzle" swaps to the date-seeded daily set, which is the same for everyone.
Tips
- Look at the background colour first. It is revealed by any tile and often narrows four choices down to two before you have spent anything.
- The four options are usually from the same family, so "is it an animal or a vehicle" rarely helps. Look for the one detail that separates the two plausible answers.
- Corner tiles are worth more than middle ones. The centre of a picture is often a single flat shape, while an edge shows you where the subject stops.
- On the low-life levels, one confident guess beats two speculative ones. Reveal a second tile rather than spend a life on a hunch.
- The daily puzzle is the same for everyone that day, so it is the one worth sharing — the practice levels are unlimited and reroll freely.
FAQ
Is Daily Picture Guess free to play?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no download, no account, and no in-game purchases. Level progress saves on your own device.
Is the daily puzzle the same for everyone?
Yes. The daily set is seeded from the calendar date, so anyone opening the page on the same day sees the same pictures in the same order. It rolls over at your local midnight.
How is the score worked out?
Each picture starts at 100 points and loses 4 for every tile you reveal beyond the free ones, with a floor of 4. So guessing early is worth far more than being certain.
What happens when I guess wrong?
That name is crossed out and you lose a life, but the picture carries on — you can reveal more tiles and try again. The round only ends when your lives run out.
Where do the pictures come from?
They are drawn in code as simple vector shapes rather than taken from photo libraries. That means no licensing questions on any image and nothing heavy to download.
