Bridge is a free online card game you can play instantly in your browser, teamed up with a computer partner against a rival computer pair, no download, no account, and no other players to wait for. Each hand opens with an auction: bid a level and a suit (or No Trump) that outranks the last bid, or pass, until three players pass in a row and the final bid becomes the contract. Whichever partnership won the auction needs their two hands combined to take at least six plus the contract's level in tricks, with their side's first player to have named the winning suit becoming declarer — and declarer's partner's hand turns face-up as the dummy for the rest of the hand, played by the declarer alongside their own. Every trick follows the suit led when possible, and the contract's suit (or no suit, in a No Trump contract) plays as trump. Make the contract and your side scores points for every trick bid plus a bonus for extra tricks and reaching game; fall short and the defending side scores a penalty instead. Play through 15 levels that sharpen every seat's bidding and card play, from frequent blunders early on up to a table that reads hand strength accurately and defends with real precision. Each level is a match to 500 points; finish with the higher team score to unlock the next table, and Try Again deals a fresh match at the same difficulty any time the rivals edge you out.

How to play Bridge

1. When it's your turn to bid, choose a level (1-7) and suit or No Trump that outranks the current highest bid, or pass — the auction ends after three passes in a row.
2. The partnership that wins the auction has a contract: take at least 6 plus the bid level in tricks combined between both hands to make it.
3. Whoever on the winning side first named the contract's suit becomes declarer; their partner's hand flips face-up as the dummy, and declarer plays cards from both hands for the rest of that deal.
4. Follow the suit that was led whenever you can; the contract's suit is trump and beats every other suit, or in a No Trump contract only the suit led can win a trick.
5. Make the contract to score points for the tricks bid plus any overtricks, with a bonus for a big enough contract; fall short and the defending side scores a penalty instead.
6. A level is a match to 500 points; finish with the higher team score to advance to the next level's sharper table.

Tips

• Count your high card points before bidding — an ace is worth 4, a king 3, a queen 2, and a jack 1 — and only open the bidding with around 13 or more.
• Support your partner's suit when you can — three or more cards in it plus a decent hand is usually enough reason to raise rather than bid your own suit.
• Once you can see the dummy, count how many tricks your side actually needs and plan which suit to establish first instead of just playing your highest card every trick.
• On defense, follow suit low when you can't beat the trick and save your high cards for when they'll actually win — burning a winner early gives the declarer a trick for free.
