How to play Tile Match
- Each cell of the grid holds a small stack of tiles. The tile on top is the one in play; the tiles under it are drawn dimmed and slightly lower so you can see how deep the stack goes.
- Tap one exposed tile, then tap another showing the same symbol. They do not need to be neighbours — any two exposed tiles anywhere on the grid match, and both clear at once.
- Clearing a pair reveals the tiles that were underneath them, which changes what else can be matched. Working across the board keeps new symbols coming up; hammering one corner buries you.
- Every match adds two seconds to the clock, and matching again within three seconds builds a combo multiplier worth up to 5x.
- Clear the whole grid before the timer hits zero to bank a time bonus and unlock the next of the 12 levels. If no two exposed tiles match, the board reshuffles itself for free rather than ending the round.
Tips
- Prefer the pair that uncovers two new symbols over the pair that uncovers none. Matching two tiles from single-tile cells removes them from the board but tells you nothing new.
- Watch for a symbol whose last two copies are stacked in the same column of your attention — if both remaining copies end up buried at the same depth in different stacks, you will need several other matches before either surfaces.
- Keep an eye on the deep stacks early. Tiles four layers down only become playable after three other matches in that cell, so leaving them all for the endgame is what runs the clock out.
- Chain matches you have already spotted. Finding three pairs and then clicking them in quick succession is worth far more than clearing them one at a time, because the multiplier resets after three seconds.
- Use the shuffle before you are completely stuck, not after — it redeals the tiles that are left into a fresh solvable arrangement, and it is most useful while there are still enough tiles for that to open up new pairs.
