Minesweeper is a free online logic puzzle you can play instantly in your browser, no download or account needed. Tap any tile to reveal it — a number tells you how many mines are hiding in its 8 neighboring tiles, and zero opens up a cascade of safe ground automatically. Your very first tap is always guaranteed safe and usually opens a good-sized area to start reasoning from. Flag tiles you suspect hide a mine (right-click on desktop, or switch on Flag Mode for touch), and once a number's flags are all placed, tap it again to instantly reveal its remaining neighbors — the classic "chord" shortcut. Play through 15 levels that grow the board from a quick 8x8 grid up to a dense 14x14 field, with no timer forcing you to wait between rounds — clear a board and the next level unlocks immediately. Use a limited hint when the logic gets tight, and start a fresh board any time for a new layout at the same level.

How to play Minesweeper

1. Tap any hidden tile to reveal it. A number shows how many mines are hiding in the 8 tiles touching it; a blank tile means no mines are adjacent and automatically opens up its safe neighbors too.
2. Your first tap of a level is always guaranteed safe, so start anywhere.
3. Flag a tile you're sure hides a mine — right-click on desktop, or turn on Flag Mode and tap on touch devices — so you don't accidentally reveal it later.
4. Once a revealed number's flags match its count, tap that number again to instantly reveal all of its remaining hidden neighbors at once.
5. Reveal every tile that isn't a mine to clear the level and unlock the next one — later levels grow the board and pack in more mines.

Tips

• Work outward from your first big opening — the edge between revealed numbers and hidden tiles is where all the useful clues are.
• Flag every mine you're certain about as soon as you spot it; it unlocks the chord shortcut on nearby numbers and speeds up the whole board.
• A "1" with only one hidden neighbor is an instant mine flag — look for these fully-constrained numbers first before guessing anywhere.
• Genuinely ambiguous 50/50 spots do come up on bigger boards — when you're truly stuck, use a hint instead of guessing blind.
