Queen's Placement Puzzle is a free online logic game you can play instantly in your browser, no download, no account, and unlimited boards any time you like. Every board is divided into colored regions, and your goal is to place exactly one queen in every row, every column, and every region, with no two queens allowed to touch, even diagonally. Tap a cell once to mark it with an X as a note, tap again to place a queen — which automatically X-marks every cell that queen rules out, so you can reason through the board without losing track — and tap a third time to clear it. Conflicting queens are outlined in red immediately, so you always know exactly where the placement breaks down. Play through 15 levels that grow the board from a gentle 5×5 up to an 11×11 grandmaster grid, with region shapes getting more irregular and interlocking as the boards get bigger. It is a free queens puzzle unlimited, generated fresh for every level with no daily wait, no login, and no limit on how many boards you solve in one sitting.

How to play Queen's Placement Puzzle

  1. Each board is divided into colored regions. Your goal is to place exactly one queen in every row, every column, and every region.
  2. No two queens may touch, including diagonally — two queens in neighboring cells always conflict.
  3. Tap a cell once to place an X mark (a note for cells you have ruled out), tap again to place a queen, and tap a third time to clear it back to empty.
  4. Placing a queen automatically X-marks every cell it rules out in its row, column, region, and the cells touching it, so you can keep reasoning without manually marking each one.
  5. Any conflicting queens are outlined in red right away — move one of them to clear the conflict.
  6. The board is solved the moment every row, column, and region has exactly one queen with no conflicts. Clear a level to unlock the next, larger board.

Tips

  • Start with the smallest regions — a region with only 1 or 2 cells often forces a queen's position immediately.
  • Use the X mark deliberately: marking cells you have logically ruled out (even before placing any queen) keeps your reasoning visible as the board fills up.
  • When a row or column has only one unmarked cell left, that cell must hold the queen for that row or column.
  • On larger boards, work region by region rather than row by row — a region's shape often narrows its queen down to just one or two legal cells.

FAQ

Is Queen's Placement Puzzle free to play?

Yes. It's a free queens puzzle unlimited in your browser with no download, no account, and no in-game purchases.

What are the rules?

Place exactly one queen in every row, every column, and every colored region. No two queens may touch, including diagonally.

Is there a new puzzle every day?

No — boards are generated fresh for each level using a seeded layout, and you can replay any unlocked level as many times as you like instead of waiting for a daily reset.

Does Queen's Placement Puzzle work on mobile?

Yes — tap a cell to cycle it through X-mark, queen, and empty, so it plays the same on phones, tablets, and desktop with no download required.

How many levels does Queen's Placement Puzzle have?

There are 15 levels. The board grows from a 5×5 grid at Level 1 up to an 11×11 grandmaster grid at Level 15, with region shapes getting trickier along the way.

Is this the same as LinkedIn's Queens game?

It uses the same core placement rules as LinkedIn's Queens — one queen per row, column, and colored region, with no two queens touching — built here as a standalone, generic queens-style puzzle rather than a LinkedIn product. Unlike LinkedIn's daily puzzle, there's no login and no once-a-day limit: every level is playable any time, as many times as you like.
