Free Kick Master is a free online football free-kick game where the shape of your swipe is the shape of the shot. Drag away from the ball to set direction and power, and bow the drag to put spin on it — a straight swipe is a straight shot, and the wall is standing exactly where a straight shot goes. Because the wall is only a third of the way to goal, no straight ball can get round the outside of it; bending it is the answer, and a ball still swerving as it passes the keeper sends them the wrong way. Ten rounds move the ball from 18 metres out to 27, adding defenders to the wall and taking time off the keeper’s reaction. No download, no sign-up, one finger.

How to play Free Kick Master

  1. Swipe upward from the ball to shoot. The direction of the swipe aims the ball, and the length of it sets the power.
  2. Curve the swipe to curve the shot. Swipe in an arc bowing to the left and the ball bends left; bow it right and the ball bends right.
  3. The wall of defenders stands 9.15 metres in front of the ball, the same as in a real match, and blocks anything low and straight.
  4. Get the ball inside the posts and under the bar without the keeper reaching it. The keeper commits to where the ball looks like it is going, so a late swerve beats them.
  5. Each round gives you a set number of kicks and a target number of goals. Reach the target and you clear the level.
  6. Every level moves the ball further out, adds a defender to the wall, and gives the keeper a faster reaction.

Tips

  • Bending it is not a flourish, it is the only way past the wall. The wall is a third of the way to goal, so a straight shot wide enough to miss its edge finishes several metres outside the post — the ball has to start outside and come back.
  • Aim the swipe outside the post you want to score at, then bow it hard back toward goal. That is the classic free kick and it is what the geometry here rewards.
  • The keeper reads the ball early and dives at where it is heading then, not where it ends up. The more the ball is still bending at the goal line, the further from it they will be.
  • A lofted shot clears the wall but gives the keeper a long time to get across. Low and swerving round the outside is much harder to save than high and straight.
  • Power is a trade. A harder shot gets there before the keeper can travel but flattens the flight, which means less time for the spin to bring it back inside the post.
  • Watch which side the wall is set up on — it moves each level. The gap it leaves is the side to attack, and the keeper is usually standing off-centre to cover it.

FAQ

Is Free Kick Master free to play online?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no download, no account and no purchases. Unlocked levels and your best run of goals are saved on your own device.

How do I curve the ball?

Swipe in an arc rather than a straight line. The game measures how far the middle of your swipe strayed from a straight line between its start and end, and that becomes the spin — so a bigger bow is a bigger bend.

Why does everything I hit smash into the wall?

Because it is going straight. The wall stands only a third of the way to goal, so a straight ball aimed wide of it is still directly behind it as it passes. You have to put spin on it.

How does the goalkeeper decide where to dive?

They read the ball’s path a fraction of a second after you strike it and dive for where it is heading at that moment, ignoring the spin. That is why a ball that keeps bending beats them and a straight one does not.

Do I have to score with every kick?

No. Each round gives you more kicks than the goals you need, so a couple of misses are built in. Clearing a level with kicks to spare is what earns three stars.

Can I play Free Kick Master on a phone?

Yes. Swiping with one finger is the entire control scheme, and the view is drawn wide so the wall and the goal both stay readable on a small screen.
