How to play Blackjack

- If your first two cards total 21, that's a blackjack and pays 3:2 immediately, unless the dealer also has blackjack, which pushes (ties).
- On your turn: Hit for another card, Stand to hold your total, Double to double your bet for exactly one more card and then stand, or Split a starting pair into two separate hands (each gets its own new card and its own bet).
- The dealer reveals their hidden card once you're done and must hit on 16 or less and stand on 17 or more, including a soft 17.

Tips
- Basic strategy says stand on a hard 17 or higher and hit a hard 11 or less every time — the close calls in between are where the real decisions live.
- Double down when your first two cards total 10 or 11 and the dealer shows a weak card (2 through 6) — that's the single highest-value moment to put more chips in play.
- Splitting aces and 8s is almost always correct (two hands with a strong start beat one hand stuck at a soft 12 or a hard 16); splitting 10-value cards almost never is, since a made 20 is already a strong hand.
