Arcade Runner is a free online endless-runner-style course you actually finish. Your runner sprints forward on its own and speeds up the longer you survive; all you do is jump and slide at the right moment. Red blocks have to be jumped, purple bars have to be slid under, and the whole course is laid out from a seed before you start rather than spawned at random in front of you — which means the spacing is guaranteed clearable, never the unfair pattern that endless runners sometimes throw at you. Twelve levels stretch from a 900-metre sprint at a gentle pace to a 4-kilometre marathon that is moving nearly twice as fast by the end. Retry replays the identical course so you can learn it; New Course deals a different layout at the same difficulty.
How to play Arcade Runner
- Your runner moves forward automatically and gets faster the longer the run lasts.
- Red blocks and orange low walls sit on the ground — jump them. Tap the Jump pad, the up arrow, W, the space bar, or anywhere on the course.
- Purple bars float at head height — slide under them with the Slide pad, the down arrow, or S. A slide only lasts about half a second, so time it rather than holding it.
- You cannot jump again while airborne, so a mistimed jump has to be ridden out.
- Touching any obstacle ends the run at whatever distance you reached.
- Reach the level's distance to clear it and unlock the next course.
Tips
- Jump early, not late. The runner is at the top of its arc about halfway through the jump, so leaving the ground as the obstacle enters the screen edge is usually right.
- Slide as the bar arrives, not when you first see it. The burst is short and standing up under a bar is what actually kills most runs.
- The colours tell you the answer before you have to think: red and orange mean jump, purple means slide.
- Every course is seeded. If a section keeps catching you, use Retry Course rather than New Course — the layout is identical and you can rehearse the one spot.
- The speed climbs steadily, so the last third of a long level needs earlier inputs than the first. Expect to react sooner as the run goes on.
FAQ
Is Arcade Runner free to play?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no download, no account, and no in-game purchases. Level progress and your best distance save on your own device.
Is the course random?
It is generated from a seed before the run starts, not spawned in front of you. The gap after every obstacle is at least the distance the runner covers mid-jump at the speed it will be doing there, so no layout is impossible.
What do I press?
On a phone, the Jump and Slide pads under the course, or tap the course itself to jump. On a keyboard, the up arrow, W or the space bar jump, and the down arrow or S slides.
Can I jump twice?
No. There is no double jump — one jump per landing, which is why timing the first one matters. The same applies to sliding: you get one burst, then the runner stands back up.
What is the difference between Retry and New Course?
Retry Course replays the exact same layout, which is how you learn a tricky stretch. New Course generates a different one at the same difficulty.
