Cornhole Toss is a free online cornhole game that runs in your browser with no download and no account. It is the back-yard board — twenty-seven feet away, sloped, with a hole near the top — and one throw repeated. Three numbers make a throw: how high, how hard and how straight. The slope is what makes the first of those a real decision. A flat bag arrives with pace still on it and runs up the board, so you can land it short and let it slide into the hole; a lofted bag lands dead and stays exactly where it hits. On an empty board the lofted one is simply better, and the game measures that honestly — it holds the hole over a wider band of power and stays on the board over twice the band, because a sliding bag multiplies every error in power by the length of its slide. What changes everything is the bags already lying there. A slider runs into the back of whatever is in its way and shoves it forward, which is wonderful when it is your own bag sitting short of the hole and a disaster when it is theirs, because you have just put three points in for them. That is when you throw it high instead and drop your bag in over the top. Scoring is cancellation, the way cornhole is really scored: the two sides subtract each round, so a round where you both sink one is worth nothing and matching their bag is as good as beating it. Six opponents, and what separates them is how near their bag lands to the one they meant to throw. First to twenty-one.
How to play Cornhole Toss
- A throw is three things: which throw you pick, where you aim it, and where you stop the power meter.
- The Slider goes in flat. It lands short and runs up the board, because the board is sloped — and it shoves anything it catches on the way.
- The Airmail goes in high. It lands dead and stays where it hits, straight over anything already lying there.
- The Roller is between the two: a little run on it, and a slightly wider margin than the slider.
- In the hole is three, on the board is one, and off the board is nothing. Long is as bad as short — a hot bag slides clean off the back.
- When one of your own bags is sitting short of the hole, slide into the back of it. What is left of the slide goes into that bag, and it can carry it in.
- When one of theirs is guarding the hole, do not slide into it — you would push their bag in for three. Throw it high and land yours past it.
- Rounds cancel. Each round the two sides subtract, so both sinking one is worth nothing at all, and matching their bag is as good as beating it.
- Whoever scores a round throws first in the next one, which means scoring costs you the last bag.
- Four bags each a round, first to twenty-one. Beat an opponent to unlock the next, and progress is kept in your own browser.
Tips
- On an empty board, throw it high. The lofted bag has a wider margin on the power meter and a much wider one for staying on the board.
- The moment you have a bag short of the hole, switch to the slider. Pushing your own bag in is the cheapest three points in the game.
- Check whose bag is in front before you pick a throw. Sliding into theirs is the worst thing you can do and it looks exactly like the right shot.
- A bag on the board is worth a point, so a safe one is rarely wasted — it also becomes something to slide into next throw.
- Because rounds cancel, answering their three with a three is as good as stopping it. Do not chase a bad round with a risky throw.
- Being ahead means throwing first next round, which is the worse end of it. Do not be surprised when a lead is hard to hold.
FAQ
Is Cornhole Toss free to play?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no download, no plugin, no sign-up and nothing to buy. The first opponent is open straight away and the rest unlock by winning.
What is the difference between the three throws?
How much pace the bag still has when it lands. A slider arrives flat and runs up the sloped board; an airmail arrives steeply and stays where it lands; the roller is in between. On an empty board the airmail is simply the safer bag — the decision only appears once there is something lying in the way.
Why did my throw put their bag in the hole?
Because you slid into it. A sliding bag hands what is left of its slide to whatever it catches, and if that is their bag sitting short of the hole, you have just carried it in for three of their points. Against their blocker, throw high instead.
Why did I score nothing when I got two bags on?
Cancellation scoring. Each round the two sides subtract, so two of yours against two of theirs is worth nothing to anybody. It is the real rule, and it means matching their round is as good as winning it.
Why does my bag keep sliding off the back?
Too much power on too flat a throw. A slider keeps its pace and the slope keeps carrying it, so the window between landing short and running off the end is genuinely narrow — that is the price of being able to push bags with it.
How do the opponents get harder?
Their bag lands nearer the one they meant to throw, and they pick the right throw for the board more often. Cornhole is one throw repeated, so there is nothing else honest to build a ladder on.
How long is a match?
First to twenty-one, which is usually ten to fourteen rounds of four bags each and a few minutes. Rounds that cancel out completely do happen, and they cost nobody anything but time.
