Dino Dash is a free online endless running game that runs in the browser with no download and no sign-up. There are no lanes and no steering: the runner goes forward at a speed that only ever grows, and every obstacle answers to exactly one of two inputs. Cacti sit on the ground and want a jump; birds fly at head height and want a duck, so jumping at one puts you straight into it. Nothing is ever placed closer together than one jump arc, so every pair can be answered — the difficulty is entirely in the speed and in reading which verb an obstacle wants.
How to play Dino Dash
- Press JUMP, space or the up arrow to jump. You cannot jump again until you land.
- Hold DUCK or the down arrow to crouch. The runner is half as tall while ducking.
- Cacti sit on the ground. Jump them — ducking does nothing at all.
- Birds fly at head height. Duck under them — jumping puts you into one.
- Ducking in mid-air drops you faster, which is how you recover from a jump taken too early.
- The desert speeds up with distance until it caps, and day turns to dusk and night as you go.
- One hit ends the run. Eight flags mark how far you got.
Tips
- Leave the jump about half an arc early so it peaks over the cactus rather than landing on it. Jumping when the cactus is already close is the most common miss.
- Hold the duck until the bird is fully behind you, not until it is level with you. The runner has width, and so does the bird.
- Never jump at a bird. It flies at exactly the height a jumping runner occupies, which is the whole reason both inputs exist.
- If you jump too early, hold duck in the air. The extra drop can still get you down before the cactus.
- The first few obstacles are always cacti, so the run always teaches the jump before it asks for the duck.
- Nothing is ever placed closer than one jump apart, so if two obstacles feel impossible together, you are reacting late rather than being cheated.
- The night section is only a colour change. Nothing about the rules or the spacing differs after dark.
FAQ
Is Dino Dash free to play?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no download, no account and nothing to buy. Your best distance is saved in the browser so the flags stay unlocked.
Why did jumping kill me?
You jumped at a bird. Birds fly at the height a jumping runner occupies, so a jump is the one thing that cannot clear one. Ducking goes under.
Can two obstacles come too close together to answer?
No. The generator never places two closer than a full jump arc plus margin, and the test suite re-derives that spacing and checks every course — including across the joins where the desert is extended mid-run.
Does the night section change anything?
Only the colours. Speed, spacing and the rules are identical — the day-night cycle is there to mark distance, not to add difficulty.
Can I do anything once I have jumped?
Yes: holding duck in the air makes you fall faster. It is the only mid-air control, and it is what saves a jump committed too early.
How is this different from Arcade Runner here?
Arcade Runner is a lane dodger — you move sideways between tracks. Here there are no lanes at all, only the two verbs and the question of which one an obstacle is asking for.
Does Dino Dash work on a phone?
Yes. Jump and duck sit as two pads across the bottom of the screen, with duck held rather than tapped.
