Bowling is a free online ten-pin game with the two things that actually make bowling bowling: proper scoring and pins that hit each other. Tap once to set your line across the lane while the marker sweeps, then tap again on the hook meter to decide how much the ball curves. From there it is physics — the ball takes its own arc down the boards and the pins knock each other over from the impacts, so hitting the pocket between the 1 and the 3 carries the back row and a flat hit leaves you a split. Scoring is the real thing: a strike is worth 10 plus your next two balls, a spare 10 plus your next one, and the tenth frame gives you the extra balls you earn. Twelve levels change the lane rather than the rules — dry boards that hook hard, heavy oil that barely turns, faster balls, tighter targets — from a modest 70 up to a 200 game.

How to play Bowling

  1. A marker sweeps across the foul line. Tap the lane (or the button) to lock where you release the ball.
  2. The hook meter then sweeps from full left curve to full right. Tap again to roll with that amount of hook.
  3. The ball curves as it travels and then knocks into the pins, which knock into each other. Where the ball enters the rack matters far more than how many pins it touches directly.
  4. You get two balls per frame at whatever is left standing. Clear all ten with the first ball for a strike, or with both for a spare.
  5. Scoring is standard ten-pin: a strike is 10 plus your next two balls, a spare is 10 plus your next ball, and an open frame is just the pins you felled.
  6. The tenth frame gives you a third ball if you strike or spare in it. Beat the level's target score to unlock the next lane.

Tips

  • Aim at the arrows, not the pins. Real bowlers pick a board about five metres down the lane and roll over it — the pins are too far away to aim at directly.
  • The pocket is between the head pin and the pin next to it, not the middle of the rack. A ball straight down the centre usually leaves a split.
  • Hook is your friend on dry boards and useless in heavy oil. Compare the level titles: "Dry Boards" curves hard, "Heavy Oil" barely turns, and the same line will not work on both.
  • For a spare on the far right or left, move your release to the opposite side of the lane and cross the ball over. Standing over the pin almost never works.
  • Nothing is randomised. Once a line strikes, repeat the same lock timing and it will strike again — that is how you string together the strikes a 200 game needs.

FAQ

Is this bowling game free to play?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no download, no account, and no in-game purchases. Level progress saves on your own device.

Is the scoring the real ten-pin scoring?

Yes, including the bonuses. A strike counts 10 plus the next two balls, a spare 10 plus the next ball, and the tenth frame earns a third ball when you strike or spare in it. A perfect game scores 300.

Why did I leave a split?

Because the ball entered the rack too flat or off the pocket. The pins are knocked over by each other as much as by the ball, so an entry angle that misses the pocket sends the ball straight through the middle and leaves the corners standing.

What does the hook meter do?

It sets how much the lane pulls the ball sideways as it travels. More hook gives a better entry angle into the pocket, but it also means a small timing error moves the ball a long way by the time it reaches the pins.

Can I play bowling on my phone?

Yes. Both taps can be made anywhere on the lane, and the lane is drawn portrait so it fits a phone screen without scrolling.
