Tangram

Tangram is a free online shape puzzle you can play instantly in your browser, no download or account needed. Each level shows a target silhouette and the seven classic tans: two large triangles, one medium triangle, two small triangles, one square, and one parallelogram. Drag every piece onto the board, rotate in 45-degree steps, and flip the parallelogram when the outline calls for it. A piece snaps only when its position and angle match the hidden solution, so the challenge is reading the silhouette and fitting all seven pieces with no overlap or leftovers. Play through 15 silhouettes that start with the classic square and move into houses, boats, birds, animals, arrows, and tougher abstract shapes.

How to play Tangram

1. Study the silhouette in the upper board area, then drag one of the seven tans from the tray onto it.
2. Select a piece and use the rotate buttons to turn it in 45-degree steps until its edge lines up with the outline.
3. Use Flip only on the parallelogram when the slant needs to face the opposite direction.
4. Release a piece near its correct position and angle to snap it into place.
5. Fill the whole silhouette with all seven pieces. A level is solved only when every tan is locked into its solution pose.

Tips

• Place the two large triangles first; they usually define the widest corners and make the rest of the silhouette easier to read.
• Save the parallelogram for a slanted gap where a triangle or square clearly cannot fit, then flip it if the lean is backwards.
• Use the hint button briefly when the outline is ambiguous, but try to remember only one target edge at a time.
• If a piece is close but will not snap, rotate it once or twice before moving it again — the position may be right while the angle is not.
