Ludo is a free online board game you can play instantly in your browser against computer opponents, no download, no account, and no waiting for other players needed. Roll the dice and move a token — roll a 6 to bring a new token out of your yard, land on a rival token to send it straight back to its base, and get all 4 of your tokens all the way around the board and into your home column before anyone else. Every color's own starting square is a safe zone where tokens can never be captured, rolling a 6 earns an extra roll, and three 6s in a row forfeits your turn, just like the classic tabletop rules. Play through 15 levels that add a second and then a third computer opponent to the table while the AI plays a sharper game with every level, from mostly random early moves up to a rival that always chases captures and races for home. Clear a level and the next one unlocks immediately, and Try Again deals a fresh board at the same difficulty any time a rival beats you home.

How to play Ludo

  1. Tap Roll Dice on your turn — you always play Blue, and your own starting square is always at the bottom of the board.
  2. Roll a 6 to bring a token out of your yard onto the board; without a 6, only tokens already on the board can move.
  3. If exactly one of your tokens can legally move it moves automatically; if more than one can move, tap the glowing token you want to advance.
  4. Landing exactly on a rival token sends it back to its own yard, unless that token is sitting on a safe (starred) square.
  5. Rolling a 6 earns you an extra roll, but three 6s in a row forfeits the whole turn — get all 4 of your tokens into your home column before any rival does to win the level.

Tips

  • Getting a second token out of your yard early gives you more options each turn and makes it harder for a rival to trap your only piece.
  • A token sitting on any color's starting square is always safe — parking there mid-race is a legitimate way to dodge a chasing rival for a turn.
  • Chasing a capture is usually worth more than blindly advancing your frontmost token, since sending a rival all the way back to base costs them far more time than you spend catching up.
  • Once a token reaches its own home column it is completely safe — race it in as soon as you have the exact roll rather than saving moves for other tokens.

FAQ

Is Ludo free to play?

Yes. Ludo is completely free to play online with no download, no account, and no in-game purchases.

Does Ludo work on mobile?

Yes — every action is a single tap (rolling the dice, picking a token to move), so it plays the same on phones, tablets, and desktop.

Can I play Ludo with friends online?

This version is single-player against computer opponents, so there's no lobby or waiting for other people — you can start a match and play a full game solo any time.

How many levels does Ludo have?

There are 15 levels. The first 5 are 1-on-1 against a computer opponent, the middle levels add a second rival, and the last 5 are a full 4-player table with the sharpest AI.
